Manufacturing Process
V-KOOL revolutionary technology was first developed for classified US aerospace and defense applications including the USAF radar-evading stealth bomber, as well as the US Space Agency NASA. It is a derivative of wavelength selection technologies which allow materials to be coated with the special optically coated materials which absorb, reflect and/or transmit specific ranges of electromagnetic radiation.
V-KOOL is produced using top 1% grade of optically-clear and durable polyester with a multi-layer of expensive rare metals such as gold, silver, indium oxide sputtered layer after layer on the polyester in a US$24 million vacuum sputtering machine. The rare metals and multilayer sputtering process creates the superior heat reflecting properties that block infra-red heat transmission by as high as 98%.
V-KOOL spectrally selective films are manufactured and processed at Southwall Technologies plant in USA and Germany.
Key Product Features
Multi-layers of dielectric-rare metals construction for advanced climate control
Gold fortified to enhance durability and robustness
Daylight transmittance for driver safety
Reflecting infra-red heat for higher driver vigilance
99% UV rejection preventing interior degradation
SPF200+ protection from harmful UV
Shatter resistant and minimizing spalling at impact of accident
Scratch resistance hard coat that meets ASTM D1044 Abrasion Test
Professional Installation
Being known as the most difficult film to install due to its higher MVTR (moisture vapour transfer rate) V-KOOL installation team worldwide is known to have the best skills in the industry. Each V-KOOL installer undergoes at least 6-18 months of training before becoming a full-time installer.
Manufacturer-Backed Warranty
Extensive warranty coverage, backed directly by the manufacturer, is provided against any delamination, demetalization, peeling, and discoloration.
Advanced Smart Window Coatings
Southwall Technologies Inc, Visteon and the U.S Department of National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) collaborated on a joint study to investigate the impact of a heat reflecting coating like V-KOOL on fuel economy and thermal comfort of passengers.
Results of the program demonstrate that a test vehicle retrofitted with V-KOOL advanced smart window coatings can lead to 3% improvement in fuel economy compared to the control vehicle equipped with standard tinted glass, and achieve a 25% reduction in time to comfort as compared to standard tinted glass. Finally a car retrofitted with V-KOOL can lead to 132 kg reduction in CO2 emission on an annual basis.
